Arabica Typeface — Davide Luccini Portfolio

Arabica variable type was inspired by curves and bends that remind me the shapes of arabic alphabet. But the main feature of that font are not the shapes but their vaiations in terms of curves and extensions that make the font move and change through its different styles. The font was created with four masters and six axis of variation to smooth the movements and the transition between the different styles // Coffea arabica was first described scientifically by Antoine de Jussieu, who named it Jasminum arabicum after studying a specimen from the Botanic Gardens of Amsterdam. Linnaeus placed it in its own genus Coffea in 1737
